If you don't know me, my name is Ron, and I've given up.

I live, or I guess I lived, in Toronto Canada for the last 35 years. Eighteen of those years I worked as a graphic designer and photographer for Sumners Graphics, a company I owned with my father. Even though our little company did quite well, I became stagnant, feeling dead inside, unfulfilled.

I've become tired of rotting in an office chair all day having the life sucked out of me by technology. Luddites rejoice! I'm tired of everything being about money and wealth and status. I give up. It's true when they say 'money can't buy you happiness'. So, in October 2004 I rid myself of all material possessions, and begun traveling the world for a year or more! Yippeee! F**k everything!!

I've put together this web site so friends and family can keep in touch as I won't be taking a cellphone with me. All that is coming with me is: clean underwear, camera, journal and a positive attitude. Since I've lived and worked like a recluse for years, this is a huge frightening step in my life. It's not an easy decision to give up an 18 year career and dump everything. On the other hand, it's bloody exciting to not know what my future will hold! As of October 15 2004, I've become homeless. I've sold the building that held my company and my life, so now there's no turning back. I expect on my travels I'll meet many interesting people, and hopefully create a trail of friends.

I'm also parting with all my material possessions, 'cause I just don't care about that anymore - I want to fill my life with experience and memories rather than the latest thingamabob.

Thanks for tuning in and I hope you'll share in my journey.
